Week 14--outstanding orange
Along: 14w0d
Size of baby: Sweet Pea is the size of a navel orange.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I've probably gained about 4 lbs so far. There is now no hiding this belly!
Maternity Clothes: Em, Abigail and I met in San Marcos last weekend and hit up the maternity outlet. I got several more shirts, a pair of work pants, and quite a few dresses. Emily bought me the cutest dress from Target (see weekly pic above!) and let me borrow some of her clothes. I feel very set for a while. I realize now that these clothes won't last me until August, but I have good work clothes, some nice outfits and comfortable/cute dresses. Can I live in dresses? They're just so soft and flowy and easy--and cute! I think I can still wear a few pairs of regular pants, but probably with a rubber band or worn very low. I'll wear them as long as possible...
Gender: Still thinking girl. We're hoping to find out toward the end of this month!
Movement: Nothing just yet, but I'm starting to be aware of my tummy so I can notice when it's different.
Sleep: I've been sleepy this week. Like early-first-trimester tired. Spring Break is almost here, and I am SO looking forward to a week of rest and fun with some girlfriends.
What I miss: Not having funny aches/pains or tired feelings. My body is preparing for many future uncomfortableness.
Cravings: Still lots of milk (in a cup with a straw just before bed) and ice water. Chance and I are going to get a slice of pizza Friday night to celebrate the end of his diet (lost 20 lbs. in a month!), and I've really been looking forward to that. I haven't had pizza since January.
Symptoms: The belly, but otherwise nothing. The 2nd trimester gets a good, smooth reputation for something. I've felt overall really great recently.
Best moment of the week: Getting my hair done! See the picture at the top. I hadn't had my hair cut or colored since early December, and kept pushing my appt. back until the end of my 1st trimester. I was so ready, and decided this week to chop it off. She cut probably 5-6 inches, and I'm really happy. It's shorter than it has been in a while, but I like it. Just don't call it my "mom 'do". :)
Looking forward to: Hosting a baby shower for our sweet friend Ann Marie and Parker this weekend. Enduring one more week of school and TAKS before a well-deserved break! Missing this week last year when we were in Disney...
