The original SB'06 was Allison, Anne, Amanda and I weekending in the Texas Hill Country. A lot has happened in the SIX YEARS since, and while we get together as frequently as possible, we don't all live in the same cities. Allison found a sweet cabin on the Guadalupe River, and we invited some of our other friends from college (some of our respective roommates and those in our social circles).
We holed up in the Lilypad Friday night-Sunday morning and had a great time chilling in the living room, talking until late hours, laughing a ridiculous amount, cooking breakfast and ruining coffee, shopping in Gruene, drinking (7-8? bottles of wine for the girls, milk and sparkling grape juice for me), cheering the Baylor Bears into the Sweet 16 and bonding over memories had and memories made. I kept thinking, "WHY have we not done this sooner?? I'm hoping it becomes an annual event so that we can reconnect with each other no matter how often we see each other during the year.
Here are the pics that Allison took with her awesome camera to give you a glimpse into our weekend.
The dock outside the Lilypad and cool wooden bears on the dock. We spent a few hours one evening enjoying the breeze and the weather out there.
The patio provided great ambiance for snacks, stories and laughs.
Shopping in Gruene (Andi is excited to be there for sure.)
Waiting for dinner at the Grist Mill, getting excited for the basketball game.
Before and after dinner (excellent views, not-so-excellent service...)
Quick stop by some gals to dip their toes in the Guadalupe and an awesome shot of Gruene in the sunset.
Squinting to check the score on our 13-inch TV. Lots of cheering and talking--our husbands and guy friends would've been proud.
The weekend couldn't have been more fun or more perfect. I can't wait for SB'13!!
