Week 16--unbelievable onion
Along: 16w0d
Size of baby: Sweet Pea is the size of an onion, and it's getting harder to find alliterative adjectives. Please don't judge my Spring Break look of minimal makeup and beachy hair.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: No clue now. I weighed at home yesterday, and my scale showed hardly any change. I have this bump that's ever-expanding; where is the extra weight that comes with it?
Maternity Clothes: Rocking them as often as possible. I do miss some of my regular clothes, but then I think about stretchy waistbands, smocked tops and ruched seams, and it's not so bad. :)
Gender: Since I've been so anxious to know, I did several of those online wives' tale tests and Chinese calendars, and they mostly said boy. So now I'm totally confused. I know those are only 50/50 accurate, so we're still playing the waiting game. Chance and I do have a boy name set, and a girl name has been harder to settle on...
Movement: No movement, just a few stomach cramps here and there, which are not the same thing. Stomach/abdomen pains are not fun; butterfly twinkles in my tummy will be.
Sleep: Insomnia kicked in this week. At least it was SB, but I woke up at 3 a.m. to go to the bathroom one night and was UP. I moved to the living room for the couch/TV around 3:45, and was up until 5:30 when I laid over and slept until Chance came in at 7 and got me up. Then I was up until 7:30 and slept until 10. Rough night, and I just kept thinking that in 5 months I'll be up every 2 hours instead. Chance and I switched sides of the bed so that I could be closer to the bathroom without having to dodge furniture in the dark, and that's been helpful, even if a little disorienting.
What I miss: A full night's sleep
Cravings: MILK! I drank a gallon in a day and a half. I bought 4 gallons at HEB this week, including one that I could take on my girl's weekend trip so that I wouldn't be without. I think it's safe to say that both Sweet Pea and I are in no danger of having brittle bones.
Symptoms: Feeling hungriest in the morning and by lunchtime, then VERY full at night. I eat a regular-sized dinner, and then I feel overstuffed. It's like I've run out of room by the end of the day.
Best moment of the week: Spring Break all week! I've slept in, stayed up late, watched Lifetime movies, completed craft projects, bought a bookshelf at Ikea, gotten a mani/pedi, ate lunch out, snuggled with Po and taken naps. It has been the best week!
Looking forward to: My 16-week "belly check" with Dr. Micus tomorrow morning and a girl's weekend in New Braunfels. Several college friends and I got a cabin to share and have plans to gab, eat, lounge and jam on our road trip. It's going to be so much fun!
