Whirlwind Weekend

Last weekend was one of the busiest, but most fun, weekends I'd had in a while. I have a chronological recap in mind with a few pictures--sadly, not enough.

Friday, I met Ashley to see The Descendants as part of our last-minute effort to see as many Oscar-nominated movies as possible. I REALLY liked this movie, and I'd recommend it to everyone. It made you feel sad, made you laugh, made you angry, made you feel depressed and made you feel hopeful. It was honest and real. We had a good time.

Saturday morning, I woke up very early (like a normal weekday) and drove to San Marcos to meet Emily and Abigail! We did some maternity clothes shopping at the outlet, and Em even lent me a few of her clothes and got me a really cute (comfortable!!) cotton dress. I had taken a set amount of cash with me to shop, and I spent exactly what I planned! I got another pair of work pants, some cute tops, a few t-shirts, 3 dresses and a camisole. Plus Em gave me some dresses, bermuda shorts for summer and school tops. I feel really set for the next few months of growth, because a couple of friends have a few more things I can borrow for school and lounging. It takes a village to raise a child-why not take a village to clothe me while I grow my child? :) The 3 of us girls had lunch at the outlet mall and said our goodbyes. Abigail was so great, and she's gotten so big since Christmas! It's a lot of fun to hang out with them, and I'm so fortunate to have a lifelong friend like Em.

As soon as I got back to Waco, I met Meredith and Scott, who were in town for Sing. Mere and I went shopping (notice a trend?) for an engagement picture outfit for her. I love shopping for Mere, because everything looks cute on her. We found a great dress and shoes in record time.

We booked it down to Baylor in time for Sing to start. Amanda and Erik met us, and the 6 of us settled in for a long show. Sing is one of my favorite things at Baylor. It was great to judge the acts from afar (last row balcony really wasn't that far back after all), using our homemade score sheets, comparing our predictions. The second Saturday is a loooong night of performances and results, but it's my favorite time to go. We had a lot of fun seeing other friends and catching up. Again, I didn't take any pictures with Meredith or Amanda, but sweet Chance and I got some photo proof.

{UPDATE:} I met up with Christine and a few friends in the lobby, and she had quite the surprise for us! She had a belly bump that looked very similar to mine; she's due just 3 days before me! (I had to keep the picture a secret for a while until she posted the news officially.) I swear there is something in the water--I know probably 10 people who are having babies in the 2-week span before and after we are. August and September are going to be very busy months!

Sunday, I went to a Stella & Dot party for my great teacher friend Erin, who has started selling it. I tried on lots of fun stuff, left to run a couple of errands, and went straight to Ashley's for our annual Oscar party. We had snacks, dinner, bottles of sparkling cider and tons of movie talk. I got 14 pics accurately, and was a little sad I hadn't seen The Artist yet. It's coming back to Waco soon, so I'll fix that quick.

Monday began another long week (TAKS next week at school, Spring Break after that) after a crazy weekend. I had a lot of fun, didn't get a lot of rest, and packed way too many things into too few hours. Here's one last pic to leave on. At almost 14 weeks, I feel like I've fully "popped". I can still wear a couple pairs of pants that aren't maternity, but not comfortably for very long. This belly starts visible in the morning, and only gets bigger by the end of the day. I've found dresses to be so comfortable, so I'm going to wear one every day this week. This pic is one of the dresses that I bought this weekend, and at the end of the day. My weekly post will be coming up later this week!
