32 weeks

Along: 32w2d
Size of baby: I missed last week's blog because of everything that was going on, so the pineapple pic was from 31 weeks. 32 weeks is a squash, but I couldn't find a plain old squash at the store. Sweet Pea is about 16 inches and 3-4 pounds. I feel like I look huge at 32 weeks, compared to just 4 weeks ago.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm at doctor's visits every 2 weeks now, so I'll get a more frequent read on my weight. Since my last visit, I gained almost a pound, putting me at nearly 19 lbs. total.
Maternity Clothes: Some of the smaller shirts I bought early on don't fit/are too short. And my dresses are starting to feel like tents. I won't complain though; I still have a reasonable amount of comfy and cute clothes.
Gender: It's a girl! Cara Beth Connell
Movement: All. The. Time. Baby girl is a wiggly little miss. I read that this week there is more baby than amniotic fluid, so I can feel her more without all the fluid barrier to get through first. I'm not surprised.
What I miss: sleeping on my back, medium t-shirts, getting up from the bed or the couch without grunting :), sleeping in (I normally have to get up after so many hours in bed because my back hurts too much to lie down anymore.), bending over to reach anything
Cravings: milk, Raisin Bran, waffles, Sonic pineapple slushes--anything cold and refreshing
Symptoms: This week was fun: I started having Braxton Hicks contractions. On Tuesday and Wednesday, it felt like giant stomach cramps and muscle pains from the top of my belly downward and across my belly button. The doctor confirmed it on Thursday and reminded me that it's part of preparing for labor, and that in 2 more weeks, they won't stop me if I do go into labor. Yikes! Since Wednesday, they have gotten better/less frequent, but I get them every now and then. Not fun to think about having these pop up for the next 8 weeks, but Cara has been too easy on me for 31.5 weeks, so I guess it was time to have something, ha!
Best moment of the week: Getting a ton of things for the nursery squared away. I got the mattress, so I made the bed up with the bedding, the glider arrived, as did some wooden letters I'm going to paint, a rug will be here Monday, we hung a bow holder and growth char, unpacked some gifts and bought wood for the cornice board Chance is going to build. It's all going to come together quickly, and I'm so ready!

I also got to finally slip into mental summer mode. My AP training in Houston was cancelled (long story that includes our district making us hotel reservations, but not registering us for a class...), so I have 10 blank days to work, rest, nest and check off my to-do list. I do have to work on lesson plans and finding a long-term sub, but that can wait, at least for now.
Looking forward to: Finishing the nursery, visiting Summers and FINALLY (!!) meeting Colton this week, accomplishing projects and errands, going to the pool, trying to stay out of the heat!
