29 weeks--adorable acorn squash

Along: 29w0d
Size of baby: Sweet Pea weighs as much as an acorn squash--around 3 lbs! Crazy to think that she'll only put on 3-4 more lbs. and only about 5-6 more inches before she's born...
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm guessing closer to 20 lbs. I'm definitely feeling bigger/curvier. Not sure how much longer I want to keep copping to the weight gain... Ha!
Maternity Clothes: Pretty much the same as last week. Some of the dresses I bought early on don't fit as cute as they used to. I did buy some athletic shorts for lounging around the house. Standard wardrobe for my hibernation week has been a large t-shirt and yoga pants (below my belly). Super comfy!
Gender: It's a girl! Cara Beth Connell
Movement: Her movements feel more intentional, which makes her feel bigger and more like a real baby. :) Some of her nudges are slower and seem to arc across my belly. She'll also poke at a certain spot or two slowly, so our interactions are more fun.
What I miss: painting my toes--it's pretty hard to bend that way anymore. Sweet Chance gave it a try this week, and didn't do half bad. I may be able to train him in the next 2.5 months to become a pro... :)
Cravings: still milk, cheese and Raisin Bran, and I've picked up PB&J and orange juice this week. Thanks to Cori for giving me the OJ inspiration! Chance and I are both into eating waffles for breakfast--I bought the family pack of 60 fluffy buttermilk waffles, and they're really yummy!
Symptoms: This week has been easier on symptoms, despite wrangling 2nd graders at VBS all week! Mostly, I've just felt HOT. It is 100* for a good part of the day, and I know the 100+* days are coming with full force. Hoping the house A/C, fans and car A/C keep me feeling good. The biggest one is my thinning belly button. :) It seems that especially by the end of the day, it looks thinner and stretchier than it does first thing in the morning. I'm not convinced it will pop out entirely, but it may get very hard to see... That's really weird.
Best moment of the week: My first shower was Sunday! It was in Waco and was with lots of my teacher friends and people I've gotten to know through the Connells. It was so fun and so lovely, and it made me feel so excited that people love Cara and support me and Chance. (I'm working on a recap of the shower, but all the best pictures are on Mom and Dad's nice new camera, so I'll get them this weekend.) We had a living room full of gifts as we sorted and organized things Sunday night. Po didn't seem to mind the new piles of stuff... :)

Looking forward to: A big weekend! Murphee Leigh is being born tomorrow (Friday), so we'll have a niece to add to our family! Cara will have a cousin about 9-10 weeks older than her too. I think seeing Murphee will make it all the more real and exciting to get ready for Cara, and I know Cari, Ricky and Mase can't wait! I have my 2nd shower on Saturday in Dallas with my college/high school friends, and I'm so excited to see my nearest and dearest as well as friends I haven't gotten a chance to connect with in person in a while. It will be a quick round trip for the shower, but really fun. Next week I have a dr. visit with my glucose test and a separate 4D ultrasound. I can't wait to see pictures of CB since it's been since my 18-week US and gender reveal that we've seen pictures!!
Just putting this out here: Chance and I are looking to buy a car since we've been primarily a one-car family since his wreck on the worst day ever. We've been so fortunate to borrow Cindy's car or carpool with friends for the last 3 months or so, but we need to get something more permanent. We are looking for something used but reliable (car, SUV, truck, doesn't matter) and want to pay cash for it. If you or someone you know is looking to sell, will you leave me a comment or email me? We've got a couple of months to put something together.
