I remembered this feeling from my wedding showers, but I left this one feeling so overwhelmed and fortunate that people would love on me and Chance like they did and would share in our excitement for Cara Beth. We have developed some really good relationships with people in Waco, and they were so generous to us. It's a great feeling to have others support and encourage us and give us such thoughtful things to prepare for our little girl.
Sweet Edith (Chance's best friend's mom) let us have the shower at her house, then she had to go out of town at the last minute the morning of my shower. She left great directions and the other hostesses had great plans, so everything was lovely and classy. I had a wedding shower at her house, so it was fun to do the same thing for the baby! I got to chat with our friends, open my gifts, then wrap up and head to the baseball game (we lost, so we won't dwell on that point). :)
I condensed some of these pics into collages, which is my new favorite way to show off pictures. I have an app on my phone and Picasa does good ones too. Here are the highlights from my shower! (**You can click on any picture to make it bigger.**)
The decorations were wonderful--onesies and sleep sacks beneath Cara's initials, Crumpler cookies, beautiful flowers and other homemade yummy treats. The gifts were a perfect mix of practical and fancy. We got some great outfits, our bedding, a pack and play, lots of organization goodies, things for the bath and the nursery, etc. It was perfect.
{fabulous hostesses, minus Edith and Lindsay, who couldn't be there}
{grandmothers--Mimi and CiCi, to be more specific}
{Mom, me and Nana, posing for a similar picture to the one we took 4 years ago}
{many things have changed since my wedding shower!}
{sweet Nanny, who's about to have her 3rd GREAT grandchild!}
{Connell/Edison ladies--lots of excitement is coming to our family this summer (at this point, Cari was just 5 days away from having Murphee)!}
The shower was so much fun and a great way to start off this season of major preparation for Cara Beth. Chance and I came home that night and both nested in a big way. We spent time sorting, organizing, putting things away and building things and letting Po sniff everything. I think he likes it all!
Up next: my 2nd shower with college friends and a blog tutorial of how to make great hostess gifts!
