Weekend Recap

We had a fun, family weekend together in Waco in this AMAZING weather. I'm so ready for Spring to get here!

Friday:
We had a Sunday School social at the church. Chance got to leave work early (!!!!), so we dropped off Cara with childcare and went to meet our friends. We played The Newlywed Game (we won for a whole minute!), sent some boys on a DQ Blizzard run (with near-disastrous results), laughed a lot and had a great time. We stayed out until almost 9, which is a rarity with a little girl who has an early bedtime. We crashed that night after a full day.

Saturday:
Cara woke up around 8:15, so we all trudged to the living room to start the day. Chance turned on Monsters Inc., and Cara was mesmerized. She's seen snippets of it before, but she stood still in the living room for a while, and even tried to talk about the movie. She sounded just like the little girl in the movie with her baby voice. :)

Chance took Cara to run some errands and I left to run some myself. I got a new pair of jeans at Old Navy and then went to get my hair done! It had been too long, and I'd had to reschedule it several times. It was fun to sit and chat with my hairdresser and end up prettier when I left!

I came home during Cara's nap, and after she woke up, we all went shopping. We bought her new clothes for her new size (24m!!!!) and enjoyed the pretty weather outside. We came home and she wanted to sing Itsy Bitsy Spider on repeat--seriously, we sang it 10 times in 10 minutes. She would just shake her fingers to tell us to do it again. Too cute!

We played all afternoon and evening, and Cara got fixated on her boots when I set them out for her to wear to church the next day. Even though she had her footie jammies on, she insisted on wearing the boot. So I put one on, shoved her foot inside, and she hobbled around the living room for a while. Just one of those slice-of-life moments that tickled us pink.

She went to bed, and Chance and I watched the Olympics and rested and finished laundry.

Sunday:
Cara got to wear some new cute clothes to church. She was super stylish, and I think she's starting to know that... :)

After church, we saw our friend Reed, who was brave enough to act big and sit behind the wheel of Chance's truck (with his Mommy & Daddy close by)!

Cara was so funny going down for her nap. She babbled and babbled and said all kinds of words as she nestled to fall asleep. We turned up the volume and laughed at her.

Mom and Dad drove back through Waco (we had seen them Thursday night on their way to San Antonio for a quick vacay), and played with us for a couple of hours. Mom brought the BEST cookie there ever was from Bakery Lorraine in SA, and I was tempted to drive down there and buy 5 dozen more. nom nom

It's shaping up to be a busy week, so I'm glad we had a fun, restful weekend, and it makes me anxious for Spring Break to get here soon!
