Weekend Recap

I did the recap of our Friday in this post, so let's tackle Saturday-Sunday.

Saturday:
Chance had to work in the morning, which is always a "boo", because we miss him and we always seem to be so busy when he's not here.

Cara and I woke up, had breakfast, gave her a bath, and then ran errands. Some shopping, some HEB, lots we had to get done!

Cara was pretty fussy at the end of the morning because it was approaching nap time. We had to wait for Chance to get home to load the car and head north to Irving before she could sleep. She was fussing and went to her room to get her blanket, laid down on the middle of the living room floor and said, "Night night." Think she was trying to tell us something? :) We hit the road and she was out within 5 minutes and slept all the way to Buck & Mimi's!

We played with M&D when we got there, and of course Harleigh. Cara LOVES Harleigh, and loves to point out her nose, ears and (lack of a) tail. Harleigh likes to lick Cara and run circles around her while Cara tries to stay standing. At one point, Buck had both his girls in his lap enjoying a book.

Nana & Grandad came over to play and have dinner with us, and Cara hammed it up again by dancing to the music of her stroller. She's become a booty shaker!

Cara went to bed, and we all sat down to watch About Time, my new favorite movie. Chance and Dad fell asleep (like I knew they would), and Mom loved it (like I knew she would). It's such a great movie!

Sunday:
We got up and ready for church with M&D, and Cara had fun playing at the new nursery room and was slightly overwhelmed at all the people who wanted to say hi to her.

She did not nap well that afternoon, and she kept waking up screaming her head off. No one got a nap while she did that. I tried to shush and rock her on my chest like I used to, but she just couldn't fall asleep--kept asking for "Ahlee" (Harleigh) and crying. :(

We got up and went outside to enjoy some sunshine. Cara played in the driveway, walked up and down the sidewalk and played in Chance's truck bed. It was a gorgeous day to be outside!

Sadly, we had to get home, so we left and let Cara have another nap in the car. I even got a nap instead of grading the hundreds of papers I took home needlessly over the weekend!

We unpacked, bathed Cara and put her down, and she fell asleep with lovie in one hand and Bear in the other. How sweet is that? Plus check out that LOOOOONG hair! Goodness!

It was such a fun, full weekend. As a bonus today, we taught Cara to sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider, and she loved singing it with us. I hope she learns more songs soon!

Hope you had a good weekend. Just 1 more weekend in February...
