Cara's verse

Soon after we settled on her name, Chance and I began searching for a verse to claim for Cara Beth. I found 2 Timothy 3:14-15, and we both agreed that it's perfect for her.

"14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus."

A heavy charge for us as her parents, but what a blessing and promise for her life. We will raise her with encouragement to continue to practice what we teach her--our heritage of faith and the Word of God that we believe. She will claim it and grow in it and will one day receive salvation through her own faith. What a powerful prayer for a parent! We claim these verses for Cara and will pray it over her even now.

Sweet Cara, how thrilled we are to know you by name and call you our daughter. You are loved and treasured by so many, and that love will continue to grow as you do. You are our child and our most precious gift. Your Daddy and I accept the responsibility and privilege that has been entrusted to us, and we promise to love you unconditionally all your life and raise you in a nurturing, supportive, safe home where you will learn of God's love and plan for you. We are so proud to be your parents, and we are ever anxious to meet you, hold you and watch you develop. You are our sweet girl, and we will be counting the days until your arrival. Grow strong and healthy, and come meet us when you're ready! We love you... Mommy & Daddy
