Easter Weekend

Easter weekend fell smack in the middle of our moving saga, and just before the fire displaced us. It kind of got swallowed a little from all the moving logistics, but I made sure to pack all our Easter outfits and Cara's Easter Bunny presents in a suitcase so we could get to them easily.

I meant to hide Cara's basket, but in the scrambling that morning, she found it on the table and pulled it off to open the things! Sneaky girl.

After church, we went to have lunch at Cari's and take pictures of the kids and the family. We also did some loads of laundry at her house and Johanna's house around the corner since we didn't have our machines working yet (and good timing, since we would be displaced for the upcoming week!).

After lunch, we hunted Easter eggs! Poor Cara hadn't gotten to hunt any yet because we'd been so busy, but she knew exactly what to do. Mase and Murphee ran one direction in the backyard, and Cara ran the other to find her own eggs. She was so dainty and precise--too sweet.

Cari also had some "cascarones"--confetti-filled eggs. We showed the kids how to crack them, but Cara was a little afraid of it. Chance showed her how to do it on my hair first, so I was picking confetti pieces out of my curls for hours. :)

We took a few more pictures, gathered our laundry and went home for late naps.

I am grateful we paused in the moving chaos to remember the Easter celebration of our risen Lord. What a blessing that we can weather any storm because He lives.

One more comparison of what a difference a year makes!
