Thursday:
I had to work, but Chance took off to go to Floyd Casey to tailgate all day. The Baylor/OU game was that night, so he had a lot to cook for and anticipate. Cara and I practiced our Sic 'Ems in our blackout gear in the morning.
As soon as school was over, I raced to get Cara, drop her off at the babysitter with Cari & Murphee and head to the game. There was so much traffic from ALL the people who were coming for the game, but we made it! I haven't been to an entire game all season, so I was really excited this time. It was chilly, but we bundled up and crammed ourselves in the stadium with the other 50,000 people and got ready. The game didn't start out as well as I'd hoped with some low scores, but the Bears soon turned it on and gave us a great show. We screamed our heads off, jumped up and down and stayed up late. Our Bears took us to 8-0 (unbelievably believable) in a decided way.
We picked up Cara around 11, took a disoriented, tired girl home, rocked her and put her back to bed. She and Murphee had so much fun playing together and made it very easy on their babysitter. She even got the girls in their jammies and smiling at the same time. What a feat!
Friday:
The next morning was hectic with a diaper explosion, a morning bath, a running-late mommy and other to-dos, but thankfully, Chance took this day off too. He had a honey-do list a mile long, but conquered every task and even brought me lunch at school! We hit the road in the evening (after a quick run by our doctor's office to check Cara's ears after she was running fever at school--no ear infection!) to head to Mom & Dad's for the weekend. Turns out Cara's fever and fussiness were due to her one-year molars. I found a GIANT tooth in the back of her mouth had popped through. We're waiting for more of them... Poor thing!
Saturday:
We had a lazy day playing at M&D's. Cara LOVES Harleigh and would positively giggle every time she could just touch Harleigh. I'm envisioning them being best friends in the near future. Sharing food, sharing beds, sharing kisses. :)
In the afternoon, we went to visit Meredith and Scott in their new house! I forgot that in Dallas, you NEVER travel on 635, so it took us over an hour to get there. Luckily, Cara slept a lot of the way. We then met up with M&D for dinner at Ball's Hamburgers (it'll change your life!) and went back home for birthday pie and bed.
Sunday:
A typical day--we went to church and had lunch while Cara napped. We played some more and then loaded up to go home. We always have such a good time in Irving. We get spoiled with good food and rest, watch Cara show off new tricks and just relax together. Now we're looking forward to some time at Thanksgiving together!
