A Blast at the Patch

We went to the best local pumpkin patch again this year to take Cara's pictures. Last year, we went on my last week of maternity leave, just before Halloween, so the patch was pretty picked over (Paige picked a patch of picked-over pumpkins.). But our timing was great this year! It was a bright, crisp evening with lots of sun still out. Chance met us after work to help take pictures and get Cara's attention, which was definitely needed.

She was upset and unsure when we first got there, and she didn't want to hold or touch any of the pumpkins. But she warmed up after a while and toddled around the whole place. She didn't want to walk without holding a hand, I think because her shoes were soft-soled and the ground was uneven under her feet. But she was content to stand still and gave us some really great smiles. I think we captured a lot of her personality in these pictures. It's crazy to see how much has changed in a year. There's no telling what kind of blurry shots we'll get next year from a 2-year-old who won't sit still! :)

And for a little side-by-side comparison:

{Like I said--what a difference a year makes!}
