There was 1 in the bed, and the little one said, "Roll over!"

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a roller! Just barely, but Cara did meet her developmental milestone on time by rolling on 12-27-12!

She had been so close for a couple of weeks now, but just couldn't commit. Finally, she did it on Thursday when I put her on the floor for playtime. Chance was in the kitchen, I was on the floor with her, and she'd been rolling back and forth for a while. She was on her back and rolled her hips over, but still had her arms pinned beneath her. I checked my phone because it beeped, and when I looked back up at her, she'd completed the flip! Her arms were free and she was on her tummy!

I yelled, and flipped her over on her tummy again, and Chance came running from the kitchen. I think our reaction and what she'd just done scared her, because she burst into tears. Sweet girl...

After that, she was not interested in rolling anymore--either from back to tummy or tummy to back. :)

The next day, I finally got a video of her rolling. That pesky right arm still gets caught under her sometimes, but she's got the definite slip and thud down. She's not as interested in going from her tummy to her back, but we'll work on it. I'm just glad she's better at rolling side to side and over because she started sleeping in her crib again full-time this week (more on that in her monthly update). It makes me worried and stare at her nonstop on the monitor, but I'm more confident now that she can roll somewhat. She'll just keep getting better (and bigger!) from here!

This video isn't her best effort, but it's the closest we've gotten on camera. Seems like someone doesn't want to perform when it's expected. Diva... :)
