23 weeks

Along: 23w0d
Size of baby: No fruit again this week... It's pomegranate week, but the friendly produce manager at HEB said they're not in season for a couple of weeks. Darn the timing. Next week is grapefruit, and those are abundant, so we'll be good.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Probably 6-7 lbs.?
Maternity Clothes: My new maternity tops came in the mail this week and have revitalized my wardrobe! I got versatile things that will carry me into summer.
Gender: It's a girl! Cara Beth Connell
Movement: TODAY WAS SO FUN! This evening I was on the couch after dinner (spaghetti and meat sauce), and I felt some kicks. It still feels like bubbles, but this time I was more attuned to it. I looked at my belly, and I saw her kick because my stomach flinched! It was really noticeable and the coolest. feeling. ever. I hadn't been feeling her on a consistent basis, and I was anxious to start that. This felt amazing!
Sleep: This week has been better. I fell asleep with my body pillow one night and woke up in the exact same position about 7 hours later. I hadn't budged. I was really stiff, but I apparently passed out and got good sleep.
What I miss: pants that don't cover my belly. I'm passed the point of lower-panel pants for the most part, and it feels better to have the full panel, but it's just an extra layer to keep up with. Plus, I bet it will be hot in the summer (because it's already 90* in Waco...).
Cravings: much of the same--milk, cheese, Raisin Bran, yogurt. I saw an old picture today of my Nana's chocolate cake for a birthday, and I got SUCH a craving. It's the most delicious chocolate cake ever--gooey and moist and yummy. Maybe I'll get a sample of it soon. (I know Nana reads the blog--maybe the next time I come to visit???) :)
Symptoms: achy feet and a sore back--working on my feet all day this week finishing research projects isn't good for my body
Best moment of the week: Feeling her move!!! I hope it becomes a lot more frequent. Looking forward to movie night with my English teacher friends tomorrow night and a quick visit from M&D to bring our baby dresser!
