Friday:
Before we left town to celebrate with Dad, Cara and I went to Sonic and got a drink for Chance and took it to the bank. Cara now associates "son-yix" with "Daddy's bank and Kyle and Angie" for his co-workers. He always love when we stop by, and this time Cara got to "help" with inventory.
And now that she faces forward, I get more chances to see her doing funny things. She discovered she could kiss her own boo boos on her knees. Ha!
Saturday:
This was party-prep day for Dad's big birthday dinner that night. But I was feeling soooo tired (some of my medication needed to be tweaked), and so I slept in and then took a nap later in the morning. Not fun to feel forcibly lazy. Nana & Grandad came over that day to play with Cara, she took an awesome nap, we got cleaned up and got the house and food ready for dinner. Chance taught Cara "Down Set Hut" in a football stance, and she had fun practicing it with him. What a funny girl and sweet Daddy.
Sunday:
We went to church with M&D and for once, we didn't leave after lunch. We were staying for a wedding in Ft. Worth that evening! We got fancied up, left Cara and drove to FW for the wedding of a sweet friend of mine from school. We became good friends this year because we were both new to the campus, and she is the funniest, most considerate person! She married a "dashingly handsome" young man, and the ceremony and reception were so personal, quirky and fun. We had a great time on our date!
We got back to M&D's around 7:30, and Mom said Cara had thrown up after a walk outside. After some debate, we decided she had gotten overheated because she was fine later, but that was scary! We loaded up and headed home, hopeful that Cara would fall asleep in the dark. FALSE! She stayed awake and chatted the entire ride home, until almost 10:30. I blame the front-facing ride, because she had so much to see and talk about. As soon as we got home, we put her straight to bed, and she conked out immediately. We'll have to work on that...
The next morning was VBS at church bright and early, so I had to race to unpack and settle a few things so I could get up and ready the next day. That week flew by in a blur of 2nd graders and crafts, and I was so tired each day...
Another weekend and a girls' trip update coming soon!
